How Much We Have Traveled
A take-off into the new year, markets and regimes, then the pen wanders out: the planet as a living vessel with certain trajectory, and time measured by how much we have traveled.
January 3rd 2026
Take off - [redacted] airport. A perfectly timed take-off and here we go back home and flying into 2026, a new year indeed, with many new things to look forward to and experience. And already the world is firing up and ready to go as well. Last year it was around April where markets started acting out of sorts and I wonder if January will start that way and I will get my first taste of a regime change and how to manage tier 2 and 3 through this time, oh and of course tier 1 we have to keep careful watch on since we've activated positions but they are far out and likely out of danger for small dips and spikes although the most recent news would be a dip for sure and we'll just have to see if we have multiple days with heightened VIX indicators. I'd like to include monitoring the futures indicators which sounds like an interesting way to see somewhat ahead of what the news is printing on the reality of how the market reacts. In this case it is hard to say on the initial news or for future happenings but it is a somewhat unpredictable climate, and that is where we can switch from IC cash engine to an asymmetric much more lucrative state going in and with the volatility and buying into that. I'm looking forward to feeling more comfortable in the heightened regimes and having a go at that and seeing how we fare in that climate.
The strategies for derivatives investing have slowly caught my interest beyond just working with data science and models. The charts always attracted me - candlesticks and all that goes with technical analysis. But until learning about selling premium and the complexities and risk engineering in the design of the iron condor which combines a put and call credit spread. So you structure the put side so it is BTO lower than the STO.
Its been awhile since I focused back on breath and smoothness of ink flow and legibility of handwriting. Until unassumingly we end up scanning frequencies for transmission and looking for heatmaps and hotspots within consciousness but what is even more useful is to even forget that one is even in the act of writing and let it take a life of its own going every which way to and fro hither some and go and to that end there is no direction just continual movement across the page into oblivion. Endless space which may not be endless.
Some argument comes to mind from something I had read where if universe where infinite the star scape would take on a different shape but even so how can we truly know other than hypothesize on things with little practical matter but the answers may have grand revelations opening new gateways to the mathematics on the size and structure of the cosmos we inhabit.
It is in these singular moments of looking at our existence while examining the immensity of space that we know of where the scale of our being does not align with the scale and trajectories even in our local stellar system which keeps us in gear and at consistent and continuous motion timeless - until it isn't and whether through sudden impact or the decay of time and the passing that we can only hope to have achieved our interstellar evolution and run on the universe. A step which I hope we can collaborate with others on similar journeys hurtling through space on rocks of planetary origins, perhaps also better making use of their central star which is our future to better harness the energy in our solar systems.
If we travel with it and see our planet not as stationary being but living vessel with certain trajectory heading to some unknown attractor pulling us in or along, or out, but continuous and never ending and that constant movement is the illusion that the motion we cannot even imagine exists. Now imagine using this underlying entity and speed as a derivative for living and measuring time without clocks or time but through how much we have traveled. Without movement in a complete vacuum can we also isolate the essence of time and suck it out of existence and simply knowing that time is motion and motion is constant.
Surely there are mathematics and equations on all of this but it does not seem to enter our daily conscious experience. We are so bound to the focal points from which our experiences are registered through senses and the mindstuff that is turned on when spirit enters body and we are brought to earth as another falling star a new soul is born. Whether this map of the cosmos and our existence correlate in such fashions are hard to contemplate in any real sense outside of mythical views.
