Getting the Sluice Fired Up

Before the birds wake, checking the instruments: breath, grip, posture. Finding flow is like getting the sluice fired up, and it takes a few pages before the handwriting starts to carry consciousness.

There is time when the birds still sleep under cold starry night's sky and sleep machines fill the rooms. There is deep beauty in the raw emotions of our species. In the shaking voice Vega response, tear filled face. Such emotion. Such humanness. Emotions things like being hurt. So characteristically human. Checking instruments breath, grip and posture.

Loosening self working to create equidistant lettering at speed and breathing deeply and more slowly. Each requiring quick revisits as I work to keep handwriting flowing consistently and the breath being the key to keeping the motion and ease going and locking into initial flow like getting the sluice fired up. But it's early and there will be fine tuning. It's rare you fire up and strike the mother lode and it takes some time to get into a flow state but that itself does not yield nor produce. It is but the right channel and supporting the practice. What steadies the board under the current and provides the frame and strength to implement strategies for motion. Shower Thoughts.
